Rankings and Players

Rankings:
India’s performance in the current tour of New Zealand may cost them their second spot in the rankings table. India will be replaced by Australia if the latter manages to win their away series against South Africa, starting on Thursday. Australia will move into second position if they win the series, the result of the second Test between India and New Zealand in Wellington. If India does not win the second Test, Australia need only to draw the series to move into second place. What do you think is going to happen. Will Australia replace India in the rankings? I think Australia may replace India. Tell me what you think will happen. I look forward to reading about your opinion.  In the next section I will write about the players on different teams.

Players: (Bowlers)
Cheteshwar Pujara and R. Ashwin (Indian team) managed to remain the best-placed Indians by keeping their place inside the top-10 of the batting and bowling charts, but slipped a rung each in the latest rankings issued on Monday. Pujara (on the Indian team ) was placed sixth in the batting list while Ashwin was eighth among the bowlers. Among other Indians, Virat Kohli remained in 11th place in the batting rankings followed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the 33rd spot. Pragyan Ojha was the next best-placed Indian after Ashwin at 11th. Kumar Sangakkara’s historic effort of 424 runs in the second and final Test in Chittagong against Bangladesh saw him jump five places to second in the rankings for Test batsmen. These are the latest updates.

One Day International

Hi! Here are the latest updates on cricket. India has lost six of their last seven completed ODIs. (If you don’t know what an ODI is it is short for One Day International. Two teams with an international status go against each other, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, usually fifty. An over is a set of six balls thrown to a batsman.) India has also lost nine of their last 10 Tests. (Test matches are played between national representative teams, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The two teams of 11 players play a four-innings match, which often lasts up to five days.) I personally love these matches! There was a draw at Johannesburg, where MS Dhoni’s men dominated only to be deprived by Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers on the final afternoon. Now that the latest match in New Zealand has dislodged India from the No.1 spot. The team has lost a lot of matches. I don’t know why though, I thought the team was very good. They used to win a lot of matches. These last few matches have been very disappointing for me. I think a lot of people were probably disappointed.  The general tone going into the two-Test series against New Zealand is that this Indian team overseas is more competitive in the longest format than it is in ODIs. New Zealand’s team however has been doing very well. They have won many matches against India and other teams as well.

Austrailia vs. England

Hi! Welcome back!  Australia is on a winning streak.  England lost the opening Twenty20 international in Hobart, Australia on Wednesday, 29 after narrowly failing to get close to Australia's massive 214-run target. Some prodigious got England to within 13 runs of the target at the finish. Ravi Bopara smashed seven sixes and two fours in his unbeaten 65 off 27 balls but paceman Nathan Coulter-Nile bowled the Australians to victory with four for 30 off his four overs. .Joe Root scored 32 off 24 balls and opener Alex Hales hit 22 off 12 balls for the beaten tourists, who have only won one limited-over international on their hapless tour of Australia. Australia won the Ashes Test series 5-0 and the ODI series 4-1 before the three-game T20 series began. "Ravi's performance was a positive, but if you lose three wickets in the first six overs you rarely win," said England skipper Stuart Broad. "We'll reflect and consider changes, but I err on the side of consistency and back these players to come back strong in Melbourne. "Cameron White was named man-of-the-match for his 75 off 43 balls as Australia set England 214 to win. England's previous highest T20 run chase was 181 against India in 2012 so their 200 for 9 was their highest score in the format. Australia’s team may become number one.  England wasn’t far behind in this match although. I have been surprised by the results. I expected more from some of the teams.

    WELCOME!

Hi! Welcome to my blog! I am a huge fan of cricket. This is a brief description of how to play cricket if you don’t know much about the game. Cricket is a game played between two teams of 11 players on a field at the center. Each team takes it in turn to bat, attempting to score runs, while the other team fields. Each turn is known as an inning. The bowler delivers the ball to the batsman who hits the ball with his bat far enough for him to run to the other end of the pitch and score a run. The batsman has to get runs for his team, but at the same team he has to make sure the bowler doesn’t hit his wickets. The team that bats continues batting until ten batsmen are out, at which point the teams switch roles and the fielding team comes in to bat.Right now the Sri Lanka's team went against the Pakistan's team.  Sri Lanka battled against Pakistan's spinners led by Saeed Ajmal to reach 220-5 at close on the opening day of the third Test in Sharjah on Thursday. Ajmal took 2-62 to leave Sri Lanka struggling at 166-5 before Angelo Mathews and Prasanna Jayawardene saw off the day with a 54-run unfinished stand on a spin-friendly Sharjah stadium pitch. Tomorrow at 7:20 England will be going against Australia.  On Saturday India will be going against New Zealand. Also, on Saturday Australia is going against Australia against England. Best of luck to all of the teams. I am so excited. Tell me who you think will win.
